About the role

Meet Benevity

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We're also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we're as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

As a Product Owner, you'll help shape features that empower clients to manage, measure, and optimize their impact initiatives. Sitting within the Product organization and working closely with a dedicated scrum team, you'll collaborate with senior product leaders, cross-functional partners, and enterprise clients to deliver intuitive, data-driven tools that reflect industry standards and evolving needs in the social impact space.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the key liaison between Product Management and Engineering, representing the product vision within the scrum team
  • Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features, enhancements, bug fixes, and technical requirements based on business value and strategic goals
  • Make real-time decisions during development cycles to keep delivery aligned with evolving needs
  • Partner with Product Management to align on product strategy, market opportunities, and user problems to solve
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, Customer Success, and Compliance to ensure a cohesive and compliant user experience
  • Communicate daily with the development team, ensuring clarity of epics and user stories, and providing ongoing feedback and support

What you'll bring:

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a SaaS environment, preferably with exposure to ESG, CSR, sustainability, or nonprofit tech
  • Strong grasp of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, with hands-on experience managing product backlogs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable development tasks
  • Passion for social impact and sustainability; familiarity with frameworks such as the SDGs, GRI, SASB, or B Corp is a plus
  • Proficient with tools like Aha, Jira, Confluence, Figma, impact data platforms, and AI technologies
  • Comfortable balancing technical fluency with empathy for mission-driven users

Nice to Haves

    • Experience with impact measurement standards, ESG frameworks, or nonprofit operations
    • Background in data visualization, analytics tools, or data governance
    • Certification in Agile or Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO, SAFe)
    • Experience working with B2B enterprise customers or within highly regulated industries
