Freedom Quest provides free, community-based, client-centered services to youth affected by substance use in the West Kootenay Boundary Region. We offer low-barrier, voluntary, and non-judgmental programming that supports young people and their families in building positive relationships, developing confidence, and overcoming barriers.
Position Overview
We're seeking a dynamic Director of Finance and Facilities to oversee all financial operations for the agency and facilities management for our head office location. This senior leadership role is perfect for a proactive, process-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment while maintaining fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
Financial Management:
- Co-develop and manage the annual organizational budget
- Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership and Board of Directors
- Lead annual audit processes and ensure regulatory compliance
- Execute payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management
- Develop internal controls and financial policies
Facilities Management:
- Oversee facility contracts and vendor relationships
- Assess facility needs and recommend improvements
- Pursue funding opportunities for facility greening initiatives
- Manage capital improvement projects and renovations
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration (preferred)
- 5-7 years of progressive financial management experience, with 3+ years in senior leadership (preferred)
- Nonprofit financial management experience (preferred)
- Strong technology skills including Office 365 and accounting software (required)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex financial information
- Commitment to understanding Indigenous worldviews and recognizing impacts of colonization
Required Certifications
- Criminal Record Check
- Valid ASIST Certification
- Valid First Aid Certification
