Position Overview:
Are you a talented craft brewer ready to take your skills to the next level? Tool Shed is looking for a brewer who is passionate about bringing our award-winning craft and dealcoholized beers to life. Whether it’s on our large scale brewhouse or our pilot system, we want your passion for innovation, quality, and efficiency to shine.
This role is expected to require full time hours in the busier summer months, and reduced hours in the slower winter months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce beer according to quality & sanitation standards
- Ensure cleanliness of brewing equipment, cellar, and brewery spaces
- Communicate with brewing and packaging teams to ensure efficient operation of the brewery
- Record brewing and cellaring activities in Ekos, ensure accurate green and brite beer transfers
- Collaborate brilliantly with other departments
- Lift push and/or pull 50kg as required
- Additional duties as assigned
Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience brewing & cellaring
- Effective communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work as a team player
- Strong technical knowledge brewing, cellaring, and packaging beer
- Pro-Serve Certification
- Eligible to work in Canada
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

After years of supporting IT infrastructure projects for the Canadian and US governments and military in Afghanistan, Graham Sherman returned to Calgary. He redirected his high-level, geeky thinking towards crafting beer in his backyard tool shed. The decision to leave his job and pursue this passion faced municipal, provincial, and federal regulatory hurdles, significant financial challenges, and even a global pandemic. Today, 11 years later, the entire Tool Shed team proudly stands in our 15,000 square foot Brewery and BBQ Restaurant, a symbol of resilience, entrepreneurialism, and unconventional guerrilla marketing. Tool Shed consistently produces award-winning beers and barbecue, including World Championship Gold in 2022.
