Job Summary: We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our team as Food Truck Staff for the Calgary Stampede. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, preparing and serving food, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Please note, for this position, you must be 18+.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take customer orders and operate the point of sale system (Square) efficiently and accurately.
- Educate guests on menu offerings and provide recommendations.
- Work with kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and knives to prepare food.
- Track inventory needs and monitor stock levels.
- Communicate effectively with the team and work collaboratively (team size: 3-8 people).
- Handle high-volume sales with poise and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate point of sale systems (Square) or willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-volume sales.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety practices.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 9/11 days of the Calgary Stampede (July 4-14, 2024). Weekends are required.
- Must complete the food safety training for Alberta Basics Special Events (free) or possess a valid food safety certificate.
