Job Summary:

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Move Attendant to join our team in Squamish. The primary role of this position is to ensure that moves within the building are conducted smoothly, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to residents and property. The Move Attendant will be responsible for protecting building property, ensuring safe access to elevators and common areas, and reporting any damage or issues that occur during the move process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elevator Protection: Properly prepare and protect the elevator interior, including the installation of protective coverings to prevent damage during the move.
  • Access Control: Assist with opening and closing building doors (entrances, elevators, and other common areas) to facilitate smooth access during moves.
  • Monitoring for Damage: Monitor all common areas and ensure that no damage occurs to floors, walls, doors, and other shared spaces during the move. Ensure that proper padding or protective materials are used.
  • Inspection and Reporting: Conduct a thorough inspection of the area before, during, and after the move. Document any damage or issues that may arise, creating a detailed report to be submitted to the management.
  • Coordination with Movers: Collaborate with movers and building management to ensure moves are done safely and efficiently without any disruption to building operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during the move and that any hazards are identified and addressed promptly.

Requirements:

  • BC Security License: Valid BC Security License is required for this position.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a residential or commercial building environment, is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure that the property is protected and that any issues are properly reported.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, such as setting up protective materials, and standing for long periods.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with residents, contractors, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify and address potential issues or concerns before they escalate.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working weekdays and weekend work, depending on move schedules.

  • Shifts are usually 3-4 hours approximately.

  • The job involves standing for extended periods of time.

Shifts are between 8 am - 8 pm
