About the role:
This Public Relations Internship will run for the Fall term and begin in September 2025.
Roles and responsibilities of a Public Relations Intern include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Media monitoring and clipping
- Media list development
- Influencer list development
- Event coordination and sourcing
- Pitch development and media pitching (with support)
- Editorial calendar development
- Seeding influencers for program campaigns
- Media backgrounder and key message development (with support)
- Advisory drafting
- Expense and hours tracking
- Administrative office tasks: supply ordering, organizing, weekly status updates to account teams
About you:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related program
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with experience in multi-tasking, prioritizing competing demands, and meeting deadlines
- Eagerness to learn, with a proactive attitude and drive to take initiative
- Deep interest and an active consumer of media and social media, with a passion for staying on top of trends
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g. Meltwater, Cision, Muck Rack)
- Understanding of media relations and what makes a story newsworthy
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok)
- Ability to research and build media and influencer lists
- Creative thinker with a collaborative spirit
- Willingness to support various tasks, from event coordination to administrative support
