Sunnybrook Research Institute is the research enterprise of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. Research spans three Toronto-based campuses, eight programs and three scientific platforms. Our main aims are to understand and prevent disease, and to develop treatments that enhance and extend life. Our vision is to invent the future of health care. Each year, we conduct about $100 million in research across 500,000 square feet, including in the world’s first Centre for Research in Image-Guided Therapeutics.
Summary Of Duties
- Successful completion of two years undergraduate program in molecular genetics, knowledge in biochemistry and imaging considered an asset.
- One years’ experience in optical microscopy
- Experience with coding (e.g., python, c++)
- Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and image processing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of research regulations and guidelines including institutional ethics protocols, biosafety procedures, and laser safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with SRS microscopy system setup, alignment, and maintenance
- Experience with beam alignment, lock-in detection, and imaging software
- Skilled in biological sample preparation for live or fixed tissue imaging
- Knowledge of spectral unmixing, hyperspectral imaging, and image processing techniques
