About the role
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support the internal audit function by conducting compliance, financial, and risk-based audits. This position is essential in helping ensure regulatory compliance, asset protection, and business process improvements. The auditor will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, financial reporting accuracy, and adherence to internal policies. This role involves close collaboration with senior management across multiple operational areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute internal audits, investigations, and special projects with a focus on compliance, internal controls, and process optimization
- Review team members’ audit assignments and work papers as needed
- Document audit findings using spreadsheets, databases, and analytics tools
- Identify and communicate control gaps and provide actionable recommendations
- Prepare concise audit reports and maintain audit documentation
- Stay up to date on industry regulations and internal standards
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to training initiatives
- Ensure strict confidentiality of financial and operational data
- Participate in continuous improvement and internal meetings
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in auditing , accounting, or finance
- Gaming, hospitality, or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with data analytics or GRC tools ( Alteryx, IDEA ) preferred
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CPA , or CISA are an asset
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Must be legally eligible to work in Ontario and pass any regulatory background checks
