About the role

As a Production Supervisor in our food manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of production personnel to ensure efficient operation and adherence to safety and quality standards. You will play a crucial role in maintaining productivity, managing resources effectively, and fostering a positive working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff to ensure high levels of performance and morale.
    • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring workload distribution is equitable and efficient.
    • Provide guidance and support to resolve any issues or conflicts within the team.
  • Production Oversight:
    • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
    • Coordinate with other departments such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics to optimize production flow.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Resource Management:
    • Assist in scheduling production activities and allocate resources (including manpower, equipment, and materials) efficiently to meet production targets.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement in production efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct regular inspections of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
    • Address any deviations from quality standards promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
    • Collaborate with the quality control team to implement and maintain quality management systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production volumes, downtime, and quality metric in production reporting system (Redzone).
    • Prepare reports on production performance, identifying trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
    • Communicate production status and issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Manage and assist with department projects to completion.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Manufacturing Management, or a related field, preferred.

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar industry, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations in the food industry.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or a work unit, including providing input on hiring / disciplinary and work objectives / effectiveness, and realigning work as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness and/or noise. Seasonal exposure to weather elements includes, but is not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
  • Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
  • Position requires the ability to sitting frequently at a desk, walking around the office and plant; carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; reaching and kneeling on a daily basis.

$70,127.00 - $124,487.00
