Job Summary

Chief Isaac Group is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across company properties. This role is vital to keeping our facilities in top condition, providing a clean and well-maintained workspace for employees, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Sanitation: Perform daily cleaning of offices, common areas, washrooms, and other facilities.
  • Waste Management: Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling in designated areas.
  • Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed.
  • Restocking Supplies: Ensure cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other essentials are stocked.
  • Light Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting necessary repairs.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow sanitation and safety guidelines, using proper cleaning procedures and chemicals.
  • Seasonal Tasks: Assist with snow removal, outdoor cleanup, and other weather-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services preferred but not required.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a clean and professional environment.
  • Physical Stamina: Comfortable performing tasks that require lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
  • Reliability: Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Safety Awareness: Understanding of cleaning product usage and workplace safety procedures.

The Chief Isaac Group of Companies was established in 1984 to own and operate the business interests of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in (translated as ‘people of the river'), a self-governing Yukon First Nation serving the Han people located in Dawson City.

In 2009, the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Trust was established as the sole shareholder of the Chief Isaac Group of Companies acting on behalf of the Trust's beneficiaries – the citizens of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in.

The Chief Isaac Group of Companies operates contemporary enterprises in the modern world, while remaining rooted in the strong, ethical traditions of our ancestors.

Our group of companies respectfully carries the name of this historic Chief who led the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in at the time of the Klondike Gold Rush during the late 1800s.
