Student Financial Planner

Academy of Learning Career College (AOLCC) is looking for a Student Financial Planner to join its team of education professionals in Edmonton. The Student Financial Planner is a professional who provides guidance and support to students and their families regarding financial matters related to education. Their primary role is to help students navigate the complex financial landscape of higher education and develop strategies to manage their educational expenses effectively.

Summary

The Student Financial Planner is responsible for assisting students and their families in understanding and managing the financial aspects of pursuing higher education. This includes providing information about financial aid options, scholarships, grants, student loans, and other funding opportunities. The Planner works closely with students to create personalized financial plans and helps them make informed decisions regarding their educational finances.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and advice to students and families regarding financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and application processes.
  • Assess students' financial needs and develop personalized financial plans to fund their education.
  • Assist students in completing financial aid applications.
  • Evaluate students' financial aid packages, review award letters, and explain the terms and conditions associated with each type of financial assistance.
  • Educate students about the long-term implications of borrowing and help them make informed decisions regarding student loans.
  • Conduct financial aid workshops, presentations, and information sessions to inform students and families about available resources and financial planning strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial aid policies, regulations, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments and offices within the educational institution to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and financial aid documentation.
  • Address students' inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to financial aid.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs, scholarships, grants, and student loan options.
  • Familiarity with provincial and federal regulations governing financial aid.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations.
  • Proficiency in using financial aid management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Previous experience in a private college setting or within an education institute.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per annum.
