Shop Labourer - Temporary
RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our Construction and Maintenance Team. The Shop Labourer will have the opportunity to be part of growing team and to learn about the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment from the ground up. This role will begin as a shop helper, and we have a willingness to apprentice the right candidate.
This is a temporary position with an expected end date of September 30, 2025, with the possibility of being extended.
General Responsibilities
- Moving truck and trailers to where needed.
- Repairing and maintaining different types of vehicles and equipment such as pickup trucks, hydrovac trucks, highway tractors, equipment trailers, dozers, cable plows, and excavators etc.
- Cleaning up around the yard and shop including; mowing and trimming, breaking down conduit wheels and strapping them together, moving snow etc.
- Disposing of garbage and waste at the landfill
- Assisting with inventory counts, shipping, and receiving.
- Picking up and delivery of parts from suppliers within and outside of Virden.
- Vehicle delivery and drop offs, or moving vehicles and equipment within the yard.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by your supervisor
Requirements:
- Valid class 5 Drivers License
- Strong work ethic
- Some mechanical experience an asset with the ability to do general maintenance on vehicles and equipment such as greasing and oil changes.
- Basic computer skills to document inventory in MS Excel.
- Must be physically fit with the ability to walk and stand for the majority of the day, able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Job Details:
- Hours are generally 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday with some opportunity for overtime and/or weekend work.
- Starting at $24.00 per hour
- This is an on-site position in our Virden, MB shop. Must have reliable means of transportation to get to work.
