Surveillance & Monitoring Station Operator- Part-time Weekends Graveyard - Burquitlam (close to Skytrain)

The Surveillance & Monitoring Station Operator monitors and responds to all incoming video and regular alarms and will dispatch a mobile security personnel or a relevant 9-1-1 emergency respondent to different sites in the Greater Vancouver Region. In addition, the Operator will answer emergency calls from clients and will promptly refer to a solution or connect to a facility management team for further action.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitoring and dispatching on live crime in progress via video.
- Monitoring the alarm events, identifying the causes, and dispatching mobile patrol or 9-1-1 respondents when necessary.
- Handling incoming and outgoing calls.
- Analyze information, determine, and collect important details, provide guidance to the customers with their inquiries, and prioritize and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and any communication with security teams or authorities.
- Adhere to the established operation protocols, and relevant legislation (e.g. PIPA).
Compensation: $20 per hour
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday midnight to 8 am, 16 hours per week
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- BC Security License
- Must be able to remain alert throughout full 8-hour shift
- Computer literate – able to use and troubleshoot video surveillance and monitoring systems, familiar as a user with basic Microsoft Office tools – excel, word, outlook
- Must be able to understand and articulate information clearly and comprehensively when communicating over the phone, email or other communication platforms.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Previous call center or alarm monitoring experience is an asset but will train a suitable candidate.
- Proven professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
- Remain calm and manage high-stress situations.
- A self-motivated team member with a positive attitude.
- Curious, willing and able to learn.
