1 ‑ Temporary Part Time (.5) ‑ Clerk 3

Registration Admitting

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event

you are successful.

Reporting to the Manager ‑ Corporate Patient Flow, the Admitting Clerk is responsible for registering patients in a

timely and courteous manner. Other duties include processing of hospital admissions, discharges and transfer

procedures. As well, providing comprehensive data to various departments and clinics. The work environment can be

hectic, the job is suited to individuals who enjoy challenge and are not easily flustered. Must enjoy working in a small

group where teamwork is vital and each person is dependent upon the other. The Admitting Department is a 24

hour/7 day a week operation.

Qualifications:

* One year Office Administration program or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Previous registration experience and knowledge of admitting, discharge and transfer system is required

* Experience with co‑ordination and assignment of patients to appropriate units is desirable

* Knowledge of computer software; i.e. Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel

* Ability to multitask, set priorities, and work with a minimum of supervision

* Demonstrated decision‑making and problem solving abilities

* Must have knowledge of medical terminology and spelling expertise

* Team player with ability to achieve results working in a co‑operative manner

Salary Range: $28.208 to 28.879
