About This Opportunity:
Our home services platform is looking for certified residential sheet metal workers to complete venting and ductwork projects in single-family homes, townhouses, and condos. This role is ideal for experienced professionals seeking flexible scheduling, strong compensation, and the ability to work directly with homeowners.
Responsibilities:
- Install, modify, or extend residential ductwork, venting systems, and exterior exhausts (e.g., for range hoods and microwave fans)
- Provide accurate quotes and timelines based on customer requests and site assessments
- Ensure all work complies with Alberta Building Code and municipal ventilation requirements
- Coordinate or purchase necessary materials for each project
- Communicate professionally with homeowners before, during, and after the project
- Document work with photos and notes when required
- Maintain your own availability and project preferences via our app
- Hold and maintain valid journeyman certification and insurance as required by Alberta law
How Our Platform Works:
- Homeowners submit requests for services such as stove vent installations, bathroom fan ducting, or range hood upgrades
- You receive alerts for projects in your area
- You submit quotes through the app after reviewing the scope
- If selected, you complete the work on your schedule
- Get paid weekly for all completed jobs
Services Typically Requested:
- Installing new exterior kitchen range vents for over-the-range microwaves
- Routing ductwork through cabinets, ceilings, or walls to code
- Replacing or upgrading existing venting to improve performance
- Installing wall, roof, or soffit vent caps with proper flashing and sealant
- Troubleshooting poor ventilation or airflow issues in existing setups
Requirements:
- Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker certification
- Experience working in residential settings (single-family or multifamily homes)
- Your own tools and reliable transportation
- Smartphone for job alerts and communication
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Compensation Structure:
- Average hourly earnings of $40–$100+, depending on complexity and location
- No platform fees or membership charges
- Payments issued weekly for all completed work
