This role will report directly to the Associate Vice President, Credit. The duties and responsibilities includes but not limited to :
· Underwriting new deals (debt and participating equity), land, construction, and income properties
· Pipeline management, supporting the origination team
· Risk analysis on new and existing loans coming up for renewal
· Prepare credit risk summaries for new loan approvals to the credit committee
· Coordinate due diligence items on each new loan and renewals, make recommendations to senior management and the credit committee
· Ensure all lending criteria have been satisfied on deals underwritten and outstanding documentation/conditions, if any, are met in a timely manner
· Act as the direct liaison with the solicitor for the closing of all new loans
· Perform annual performance reviews on the existing loan portfolio
· Perform searches and process draw requests
· Site visits, as required
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- University degree in Business, Finance, or Real Estate.
- 3-5 years of experience in underwriting complex real estate debt transactions, including construction loans.
- Knowledge and experience in real estate valuation.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
