Paradox Access Solutions is seeking a Field Superintendent to join our team!

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Seasonal

WAGE: $60.00 per hour

PROJECT LOCATION: Projects throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan

The field superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety. The field superintendent must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and client while successfully directing and construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Ensure the job site is accessible and properly prepared for the project
  • Coordinate and run daily tailgate meetings
  • Delegate tasks to employees/operators and sub-contractors
  • Manage the overall jobsite to ensure the project is running safely and on schedule; report any delays or anticipated delays to management
  • Complete all paperwork required for each job, obtain required signatures, and submit to the appropriate party
  • Maintain a positive rapport with the client by acting as their point of contact and coordinating the project with them
  • Perform pre-and post-trip inspections on equipment; ensuring the inspections have been completed before work commences
  • Report all malfunctions and/or breakdowns of equipment to the Transportation & Fleet Manager for proper maintenance and repairs
  • Coordinate equipment repairs with the Transportation & Fleet Manager
  • Manage and schedule preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure all staff are adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Complete and submit hazard assessments for each site location
  • Report all incidents and/or accidents to the Health and Safety and Earthworks Operations Manager
  • Participate in investigations regarding safety violations
  • All other duties assigned required

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? (REQUIREMENTS)

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean drivers Abstract
  • Related supervisory experience and 5 years of related experience in Earthworks/civil industry Equipment training (Excavator, Loader, Grader, etc)
  • Valid safety certifications in H2S, CSTS, First Aid, and OSSA are required. Global ground disturbance 2 and flagger training are considered an asset
  • Leadership/Management training is considered an asset
  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to pass pre-access drug & alcohol, and fit-to-work testing
