Job Description
JOIN OUR TEAM!
As part of a dynamic team, you will carry out investigations and inspections to ensure the application of current regulations and standards concerning the protection and preservation of plants.
In addition, you respond to various arboricultural requests or complaints from citizens or other inquirers. You will also plan and coordinate tree replacement and planting activities and participate in the development of a systematic pruning program. Finally, you will be required to keep records of tree species and participate in researching new plant treatments and maintenance methods.
Examples of tasks
- Assess tree health and issue tree cutting permits;
- Oversee compliance with City by-laws;
- Supervise various contracts such as planting, grubbing, maintenance, etc.
Qualifications required
Profile

Specialized college diploma or vocational diploma, in the appropriate sector and profile (ISA certification (SIAQ) an asset);
-
Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in arboriculture, horticulture or forestry in general;
-
Bilingual: spoken and written French, spoken English;
-
Knowledge of arboriculture, horticulture and sylviculture terms and methods;
-
Knowledge of plant treatments;
-
Class 5 driving license.

35 hours per week: fixed daytime schedule Monday to Thursday, 6:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
