Girl Guides of Canada is actively seeking a Unified Banking Travel Analyst Remote working arrangement About This Opportunity Reporting to the Team Lead, Unified Banking in this role, you will support nine (9) Provincial Councils and be responsible for reconciling financial reports, analyzing and reporting data nationwide, and ensuring compliance with organizational financial policies for girl-focused travel. You will also oversee volunteer management across the country, regarding nationwide financial processes for travel.
Position Specifics In This Role You Will
- Conduct a critical review of nationwide trip financial processes and documentation, provide recommendations for improvements, support the implementation of streamlined procedures, and complete trip and year-end reconciliations, including follow-up on outstanding cash advances.
- Provide advanced review of country-wide data analytics and reporting to determine and mitigate risk, spending partnerships and review demographics to ensure travel is an equal opportunity across the country.
- Analyzes Unified Banking data for trips nationwide and reports on statistics regarding year-end reconciliations and cookie sales/funds raised for trips.
- Review and reconcile financial documentation associated with independent trips, including identification of taxes that must be collected, remittance of taxes and refunds of personal payment.
- Ensure Trip Unit Treasurer’s follow the GGC’s financial guidelines and processes and report any financial anomalies to the appropriate volunteer and/or staff.
- Respond to volunteer inquiries and provide timely, appropriate guidance on trip finances and organizational travel processes, in alignment with Unified Banking Department customer service standards throughout all stages of trip planning.
- Oversee travel purchase card credit limit increases/decreases, collaborate with US Bank to add flag to cardholder account with expected travel dates and destinations to provide card access out of country.
- Track and follow up on year-end reconciliation (and mid-year cookie review), prompt submissions as required.
- Review and approve trip transfers (and wire transfers) and investigate any anomalies.
- Collaborate with senior volunteers when escalation is required and support with resolution process.
- Support Unit readiness: Follow up with Guiders to ensure financial positions are filled (Treasurer and Purchase Card Holder positions)
- Generate travel documentation: Establish best financial practices including collaboration with other departments to create documentation (i.e. handbook) and other media references
- Close Trip units: Transfer excess fundraising to next level and instruct trips department to close unit in iMIS
- Provides extensive volunteer management at every level and prepares presentations for both GGC management and senior volunteers
General
- Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
- Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, inclusivity and equity to content, member communication and customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years experience supporting front-line staff or volunteers in the areas of fiscal management, analytics, accounting, or bookkeeping
- Working knowledge/understanding of standard bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data visualization, macros, and financial modeling) for analyzing trends and reporting.
- Ability to interpret financial data, identify patterns, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Financial aptitude with effective communication skills (verbal, written and is an active listener).
- Excellent organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
- Flexibility/Adaptability and a dedicated team player.
- Customer Service Orientation.
- Familiarity with providing support to a volunteer-led organization
Hiring Range: $55,100 to $65,030/Annually
