This is a Temporary Full-Time Lead Server position with 75 hours biweekly.
Term:6 months, or until the incumbent returns, whichever comes first

- Tues 11:00am-7:00pm
- Wed 11:00am-7:00pm
- Thurs 11:00am-7:00pm
- Fri 11:00am-7:00pm
- Sat 11:00am-7:00pm
Wage Leveling rate of pay $26.84 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Lead Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and organization standards.
- Assist with Administrative Documentation: Responsible for completing and supporting system-based documentation related to team responsibilities and operational duties.
- Support Team Scheduling: Assist in coordinating and maintaining team schedules, including managing shift coverage and addressing staffing vacancies.
- Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
- Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
- Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
- Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
- Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Requirements:
- Must have Serving it Right Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire;
- One (1) year experience in dining room service;
- Basic Computer Proficiency: Must demonstrate foundational skills in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry, reporting, and general administrative tasks as well as to support ongoing staff training.
- One (1) year experience in Team Scheduling: Assist in coordinating and maintaining team schedules, including managing shift coverage and addressing staffing vacancies.
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
- Safe Food Handling Certification preferred;
- Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
- Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
