A/R and Finance Administrator

Compensation: $20–$25/hour (Hourly Employee)

Location: Remote

Position Summary:

This role plays a key role in managing insurer accounts receivable and overseeing the approval/denial process for extended health benefits. This role ensures timely follow-up on outstanding claims and works closely with insurers, clients, and therapists to resolve billing and benefit-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage insurer accounts receivable and monitor aging reports
  • Assist and complete accounts receivable, collections, and payable processes (QuickBooks)
  • Process Extended Health Benefit denials
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and initiate collection efforts where necessary
  • Track and coordinate extended health benefit approvals and denials
  • Communicate with insurance companies and clients to resolve coverage or payment issues
  • Document all collection activities and maintain accurate financial records
  • Collaborate with therapists and administrative staff to clarify service details for billing
  • Support clients in understanding their benefit coverage and claims processes
  • Escalate unresolved issues to management as needed
  • General administrative support as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience in insurance billing, AR collections, or health benefits administration (preferably in a healthcare or therapy setting)
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in a similar support role in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Familiarity with Canadian extended health benefits and occupational therapy billing codes is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Proficient with Googler Suite and billing software (experience with HCAI or similar platforms is an asset)
  • Excellent MS Office skills, advanced spreadsheet experience
  • Willingness to learn and a problem solver
  • Experience with HCAI and QuickBooks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Insurance billing, AR collections & Health benefits: 1 year (preferred)
  • Similar support role: 1 year (preferred)
  • HCAI & QuickBooks (or similar platform): 1 year (preferred)

​Our areas of clinical practice include acquired brain injury/ neurological impairments, severe orthopedic injury (spinal cord injury/amputation/fractures), psychological disabilities and chronic pain. ​ We provide hospital discharge planning services, followed by community based individualized care planning. There are a multitude of different types of intervention services our team provides including: home/vehicle accessibility, equipment prescription, community safety/reintegration, wheelchair positioning/ seating prescriptions, activities of daily living (ADL) re-training/ functional restoration programming, cognitive remediation/compensatory therapies, cognitive behavioural therapy,  quality of life and return to modified sport programs. Our team is additionally skilled in vocational services, including return to work programs, work-site, vocational exploration and ergonomic assessments. ​
