The Principal IT Pillar Technician directly impacts the effectiveness of their team and related team. They exchange ideas and information relating to IT Pillar effectively. The Principal IT Pillar Technician may work autonomously within established IT Pillar procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal IT Pillar Technician proposes improvements to processes and methods within the IT Pillar discipline.
Min Salary: 78,400 CAD Max Salary: 97,900 CAD

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Review of Invitation to Bid (ITB) from Clients for the Information Management requirements and assessment of the risks & opportunities in this area

Prepare the Information Management Execution Plan for proposals and projects

Prepare IM estimates and control spending within the allocated budgets
-
Prepare and review proposal write-ups
-
Detect and manage project scope changes
-
Coordinate the project-specific infrastructure setup for construction sites, client resident teams, and joint venture partners in cooperation with Project IT
-
Specify and coordinate the processes and tools for data collection, validation consolidation, and handover to the Client
-
Single point of contact to project management and the Client for Information Management
-
Translate project-specific information requirements into efficient system configurations and related user instructions
-
Prepare functional specifications and manage the development and implementation of project-specific applications and/or interfaces
-
Capture lessons learned, and best practices and ensure their embedding in the organization
-
Initiate and conduct Information Management (IM) audits and peer reviews
-
Train and coach personnel for and on assignments
-
Provide input to audits and peer reviews, undertake other project audits as required
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or IT discipline or Diploma in IT discipline with equivalent work experience
- Experience at least five years+ of a lead experience as a Support Engineer or in a comparable function Fully familiar with Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Fabrication project execution requirements for Information Management
- Conversant with modern database-driven engineering tools, integrated engineering
- Experience in managing IM and data teams
