Rural and Northern Child and Family Services (RNCFS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Foster Care Coordinator (SP4) in St. Pierre-Jolys.

Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Prior Contact Check

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and participate in the after-hours stand-by rotation when required

Must have and maintain a valid full stage class 5 driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for work-related travel

Must be able to travel on government business within the Province of Manitoba as required, including occasional extended and/or overnight travel
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences (Bachelor of Social Work preferred). Other combinations of education, training, and related experience may be considered.
- Experience in case management and in providing services to children, youth, and families, including assessment, planning, implementation (such as counselling), evaluation, and case closure within a social services environment.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent behaviour, including the ability to identify the effects of abuse and neglect.
- Experience in conflict resolution to effectively problem solve and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish, engage and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, high-demand setting.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare correspondence and detailed reports for a variety of audiences.
- Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate or deliver difficult messages or information to clients.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook) or similar software applications.
Desired
- Knowledge of the Foster Care Licensing regulations and related standards.
Duties:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the generic Foster Care Coordinator for CFS is responsible for the delivery of foster care services within Eastman Area. Duties include placement needs assessment, recruitment, studies and licensing, orientation, training, support, and matching and coordination for emergency receiving resources, places of safety, foster homes, and specialized treatment homes. The incumbent will provide support to other programs within Rural and Northern Child and Family Services.
