As a Rigger, you will play a critical role in supporting safe and efficient material handling within a fast-paced, high-output production environment. You will be responsible for coordinating closely with the equipment operator to guide heavy and oversized materials through tight spaces using rigging practices. Your daily work will involve inspecting and adjusting rigging setups, ensuring proper load control, communicating clearly with your team, and preparing materials for staging or shipment.

This position demands strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of rigging equipment, lift procedures, and safety protocols. In addition to your core rigging responsibilities, you will support general production tasks, assist with shipping preparation, and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse environment.

Work Hours - C Shift

Monday to Friday

8 hours per day

with shift premium on 40 hours

The Responsibilities, include but not limited to:

  • Arrive punctually and ready for work, equipped with all necessary PPE and materials.

Rigging & Production Support:

  • Collaborate closely with crane and telehandler operators to ensure safe, coordinated lifts and material movements.
  • Apply proper rigging techniques to safely handle large and heavy materials, including attaching yokes, guiding panels, and managing tag lines during crane lifts.
  • Perform pre-lift inspections to verify rigging plans, equipment integrity, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor and adjust rigging equipment as needed during lifts to maintain control and alignment.
  • Use hand signals, radios, headsets, or other communication devices to maintain clear, continuous coordination with operators and team members.
  • Operate hand and power tools to assist with related tasks such as cutting, drilling, and fastening.
  • Move materials to and from the shop, carefully navigating long beams, panels, and cladding through narrow or restricted spaces.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and staging materials as directed.
  • Safely wrap, stack, and stage prefabricated panels and components in the yard to prevent damage and support efficient workflow.
  • Inspect rigging gear and equipment for defects, reporting issues promptly and removing unsafe gear from service.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment properly after lifts are completed.

Shipping Preparation:

  • Assist with preparing materials for shipment, including wrapping, palletizing, and organizing panels for transport.

Daily Upkeep and General Tasks:

  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and efficient warehouse, yard, and work area at all times.
  • Support teammates, remain flexible to changing priorities, and be prepared to multi-task as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and contribute to a respectful, safety-conscious work environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with administrative policies as updated or directed.
  • Perform other duties as requested, consistent with your skills and responsibilities.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Highschool graduation, an asset
  • Valid Level 1 Rigging Certification
  • Basic First Aid certification (Level 1)

Nice to Haves, but can be certified on the job:

  • Valid Class I forklift license
  • WHIMS

Skills & Experience, Required:

  • 2+ of experience in rigging
  • Physically fit and able to safely lift, maneuver, and handle large and heavy materials.
  • Proven ability to safely rig, guide, and position heavy loads using telehandlers/cranes, and manual methods
  • Strong understanding of rigging hardware and equipment (e.g., shackles, slings, tag lines, spreader bars, yokes)
  • Ability to read and interpret lift plans, shop drawings, or material layouts
  • Skilled in using hand signals and communicating effectively with radios or headsets
  • Experience operating hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, impact drivers)
  • Comfort working outdoors in dusty, rugged conditions, with varying weather.
  • Good attitude, team-first mindset, and willingness to follow instructions and safety protocols.
  • Able to follow instructions and complete work tasks on schedule with clear timelines, with minimal supervision.

Important to Mention!

  • Must provide your own CSA-approved 6” safety footwear, required.
  • Proof of ability to remain and work in Canada.
  • Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check.

We expect the hourly pay within the range for this position will vary within the range of $29 - $35 per hour, plus a night shift premium.

Subject to change, as your pay will be based on market evaluation and various job-related factors, including your past work experience, relevant education and certifications etc.
