Faculty/Department Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance Unit Media, Art, and Performance-Music Employee Group CUPE 2419 CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Student Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated graduate or undergraduate student from Computer Science, Creative Technologies, Graphic Design, or a related faculty to support the user interface and experience design of a website and mobile application. This role is part of a community-engaged, interdisciplinary project with the potential to contribute to meaningful social impact.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in UI/UX design and 2D digital design, with proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. A passion for designing accessible, user-centered digital experiences is essential. Familiarity with wireframing and prototyping tools like Figma or Adobe XD is highly desirable.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for a website and mobile application.
  • Create and refine visual assets using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including icons, graphics, and layout components.
  • Conduct or support usability testing and incorporate feedback into iterative design updates.
  • Assist in maintaining design consistency across all digital platforms and document design standards.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to design planning and review discussions.

Position Requirements

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Creative Technologies, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for 2D digital and graphic design.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively.

Physical Demands Pay Grade As Per CUPE 2419 Salary Range As per CUPE 2419 Collective Agreement Status Casual Work Hours

Hours: Up to 120 hours (approx. 10 hrs/week, 12 weeks)

This position may be extended into the fall term
