What makes this role important at Ipsos?
Our Vice President’s play a critical role within the Ipsos Brand Health Tracking team, leading client portfolios while simultaneously building strong and engaged teams of researchers. This role will be responsible for managing a significant revenue stream; being a brand, media and advertising expert; and nurturing/growing existing client relationships by being a trusted advisor. We are looking for someone who builds relationships and is comfortable interacting with clients at the most senior leadership levels.
This individual will be responsible for continuous development of their own team and book of business within the BHT Service Line. In addition to supporting business management efforts and account strategies, the VP will support and enable team members to design and deliver impactful and influential insights within tight deadlines and across competing priorities.
As a leader in the team, working closely with the other members of the leadership team, the VP will be responsible for career development and talent management, enabling team members at all levels to deliver on their full potential. The individual will be measured against financial performance (sales and profitability), as well as key people and client metrics.
What you can expect to be doing:
Revenue and Profit Management : A chieve revenue and profit targets which ladder up to the Canadian broader team targets
- Actively manage your client roster and sales pipeline
- Focus on business development through proposal response, client growth, networking, etc.
- Excellent financial acumen and attention to core financial metrics to ensure the health of the BHT business
Team Leadership: Lead and coach a diverse team of research professionals; motivate and empower the team to meet strategic and tactical goals of the Brand Health service line. Balance the delegation of client relationship and project duties within your team, with the need to directly involve yourself in day-to-day activities on strategic initiatives. Oversee your team members so that projects get done well and right: on time, on budget and on strategy for the client. Mentor and coach a team of consultants on:
- Client retention
- Proposal development
- Presentations to clients and prospects in person or via webinars, speaking engagements or conference attendance
- Career development
- Sharing learnings and best practices with peers
Expertise & Advisory: Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ business issues and the industries in which they operate. Strive to develop and grow our individual and collective strengths to meet shifting client needs and demands. Identify and implement improvements to our delivery that increase client impact; become a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their big picture strategy and day-to-day needs.
This might be the job for you if you have:
- Minimum of 7 years of research experience
- Preference for a balance of vendor and client side experience
- Strong team leadership skills with past experience in mentoring and building teams
- Business development focus that supports organization and growth strategy
- Substantial experience in client relationship management and consistency evidence of delivering with excellence
- Strong aptitude for research consulting with highly developed analytic skills
- Ability to think strategically about the clients’ business issues and design research to address the client’s questions
- Highly motivated, self-directed and possess a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines
- Superior organizational skills, including ability to manage and delegate work effectively, attention to detail, and demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills
- Intellectually curious with a growth mindset; willing to try new things and continuously evolve
