The Ministry of Social Services, Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC), has a great opportunity for a professional, collaborative, and self-directed individual who has excellent interpersonal, communication and technical skills for the position of Financial Operations Analyst.
This position will be directly involved in monthly reporting, data management, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting for SHC's housing portfolio. It includes consolidating forecast information and preparing quarterly expenditure forecasts, including analyzing trends, variances, and emerging issues/opportunities.
Typically, the knowledge and skills/abilities required for this position would be attained through completing a bachelor's degree in business administration or an accounting diploma and or enrollment in the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) program. Relative education combined with experience will also be considered.
Position will be based in Regina.
You will have the knowledge of the following:
- Knowledge/Skill to identify stakeholders' relevant issues/needs and generate options/alternatives to reach a common agreement for all parties, including situations without clear policies or guidelines.
- Knowledge of operational reports, analyzing, compiling, interpreting, and distributing statistical data describing trends in the industry to facilitate decision-making for the business operations and their stakeholders.
- Knowledge of developing, establishing, and maintaining positive and professional work relationships with business operations, clients, communities, and co-workers.
- Know Consultation and working with other organizations, colleagues, individuals, and business operations to develop positive working relationships and policies to address complaints and establish partnerships.
- Knowledge of data management, including cleaning data, identifying patterns and trends, and arranging data.
- Advanced skills of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint Point and Power BI).
- Knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards (JDE) would be considered an asset.
You will have the demonstrated ability to:
- Ability to accurately compile, compare, calculate, identify, and summarize data to complete such tasks as adjusting entries/ preparing financial statements/ statistical reports/ supporting documents/ year-end schedules/ forecasts/ budgets/ project evaluations/ trend analysis.
- Ability to anticipate emerging trends, assess industry concerns, issues and needs and how they impact the industry to make informed recommendations. Housing industry knowledge will be an asset.
- Ability to develop, implement and or update short- and long-term projects and operational and business plans, ensuring established ministerial goals and objectives are met.
- Ability to instruct, guide, coach and encourage others to enhance their job performance and further develop their skills.
- Ability to design/develop/select research methodologies and apply appropriate statistical and analytical techniques.
- Ability to work independently and participate as a team member to meet the needs of clients and co-workers and to build productive, positive work relationships.
- Ability to concisely record, document, draft, and compose written materials such as business plans, budget proposals, agreements, contracts, letters, memos, evaluations, and staff schedules according to timelines.
