Join Our Team as a Design Technician at America Fujikura Limited (AFL)

Location: Calgary or Surrey

America Fujikura Limited (AFL) is on the hunt for Design Technician who is dynamic, innovative, detail orientated and excels at visualization and concepts to joinour Canadian Operations. Responsibilities

  • Review proposed civil work and ensure accuracy prior to permitting to avoid any unnecessary

re-work

  • Request fielding for areas in question
  • Ensure drawings are accurate, easy to read, polished and adhere to standards and

guidelines

  • Resolve issues with proposed builds including (but not limited to) creating and/or modifying

designs including fibre, civil and aerial plant

  • Access Sharefile to view and share plans
  • Visit work locations to assess plant
  • Regularly meet with stakeholders, both internal and external, to review plans
  • Communicate project requirements, designs, issues, status updates and deliverables with Quality

Assurance team

  • Assist team members, both within the office and in the field, as required
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience ideally within Telecommunication Industry
  • Understanding of civil, fibre and aerial design
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Knowledge in Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, O-Calc Pro an asset

Education

  • Telecom Diploma is desirable
  • Electrical engineering

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Office Shcedule
  • General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
  • Travel is required
