Position - Senior Business Developer
- Pay Rate: $100K - $120K Base CAD Yearly
- Location: Baie d’Urfé (Montreal), Quebec
Raise is currently hiring a permanent, full-time team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Our client has been servicing the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for over 35 years and has established itself as a trusted partner worldwide in Drug Safety Testing. We are actively seeking a Senior Business Developer to join our team as we continue to expand our reach and services. Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, the successful incumbent will be responsible for actively managing, for their designated territory, new and existing customer base as well as developing sales strategies to continue to grow the business.
Key Responsibilities Are To
- Manage business development activities to meet and exceed annual sales goals.
- Actively develop sales and marketing strategies to further promote services to potential new customers and grow within existing customer base.
- Create action plans to maximize sales opportunities within a defined territory.
- Work collaboratively and support the team account managers for their designated area.
- Sales activities, including but are not limited to:
- Manage customer meetings.
- Participate in study budgets, in addition to elaborating and preparing proposals and contracts, as well as conducting negotiations with the customers to close the sales.
- Identify opportunities to generate new leads and prospects and positioning the company to successfully deliver the companies presentation to new qualified opportunities.
- Attend commercial trade shows/conferences to further promote our services to new customers.
- Deliver on-site presentations of company services.
- Establish opportunities for long term sales growth; maintain relationship with potential and existing clients. Leverage multiple relationships at client’s contacts to build recognition of service value.
- Manage prospects and client accounts (communications, letters, emails, etc.)
- Follow-up with client contacts to ensure quality service and improvement opportunities
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with client services, scientific leads and other internal groups.
- Provide reporting on activities as needed.
- Accountable for projecting and reinforcing company vision and best practices for efficient client account management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field (Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry). Additional sales or formal management training is an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years in a Business Development role in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other pertinent industry.
- Strong background in pharmacology solutions & late discovery;
- Experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) is an asset.
- Willingness to travel frequently out of country/province (up to 50% of time when borders reopen)
- Demonstrate an outstanding ability to communicate in English in a clear, effective and compelling manner both orally and written. Possess good communication skills in French.
- Dynamic and able to develop strong professional connections.
- Ability to take initiatives and have good organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
