How you’ll make a difference:

We are seeking someone who embodies leadership, innovation, and engagement. Our audit team plays a pivotal role in providing service to employers, building client relationships, and ensuring accurate premiums, account structures and supporting successful return to work outcomes. The new supervisor will contribute to our service journey and provide essential support to our staff.

Your Supervisor, Premium Audit responsibilities:

  • Employers are properly classified for insurance purposes;
  • Worker status assessed by applying relevant policy and legislation;
  • Employers are reporting insurable earnings and claims correctly;
  • Issues are identified that result in inaccurate employer reporting of claims and insurable earnings; and
  • Reports are prepared for management, outlining issues and possible solutions.
  • Employers are provided with information about their premiums and accounts.

As the Supervisor, you will play a key role ensuring the focus is on our customers, making certain service delivery meets their expectations and requirements. This will be accomplished through identifying and implementing opportunities to increase efficiencies and effectiveness through collaboration with other supervisors and members of your team.

Your experience and skills:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on business administration, risk management and finance.
  • Professional designations such as a CMA are considered an asset.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience or training would be an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of the WC Act, policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of industry classification, rate setting, audit procedures and processes.
  • Well-developed “team management” skills and the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Demonstrated cooperative leadership style with peers in the department as well as peers in other departments.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective negotiation skills.
  • A combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Salary: $92,684.00 to $109,024.00 (Pay Grade 12)

Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment. Successful candidate must reside in Alberta and be able to work in person in our Edmonton downtown or Calgary office as required by the position. This position is eligible for hybrid work and successful candidates will be expected to work in-office as scheduled (subject to change).
