About The Role As a VP Creative Director, you'll be steering our creative teams towards excellence while also actively participating in hands-on creative development and production. This pivotal position requires you to navigate multiple responsibilities, serving as both creator and supervisor simultaneously. You orchestrate the flow of work, directing and passing to talented creatives when needed or taking charge to drive it home, all while maintaining a strategic overview. Your role is a delicate balance between being in the trenches with the team yet also sitting higher and communicating effectively with clients and internal Monks executives to ensure alignment and success across projects. It's a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to bridge the creative and executive branches, both within our agency and with our valued clients. You will always be across multiple projects and clients.

You will work closely with account leadership on how we continue to grow and support our strong relationship with one of the largest automotive companies in the world. Also pivotal to your success in this role is having a strong partnership with the other discipline leads and contributing to an environment of teamwork and mutual understanding. You will need to work collaboratively and inclusively across brand, strategy, product, content and integrated marketing teams through a variety of opportunities while also supporting your ever-growing creative team. Of equal importance is your influencing prowess with clients while ever being humble and adaptable.

Responsibilities

  • Creative Leadership:

  • Provide high-level creative direction and inspiration to client projects and teams. Guide the conceptual and aesthetic direction of campaigns, experiential or design projects.

  • Ensure that all creative work aligns with the client's brand, objectives, and the agency's standards. Lead, mentor, and develop creative directors and creative teams, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and excellence. Provide input into the allocation of creative resources and talent to ensure optimal team performance and project success.

  • Assist in promoting and advocating for the completion of creative department yearly goals.

  • When the project calls for it, be a creative contributor for ideation on high-priority projects and pitches for our key client brands.

  • Client Interaction and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with multiple senior and day-to-day clients and teams to understand their vision and objectives. Present creative concepts and ideas persuasively.

  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.

  • Participate in potential new business pitches and ongoing organic new business development.

  • Client Relations and Business Growth:

  • Work closely with senior business leaders to shape growth strategies for creative services and team up with cross-functional teams to tackle client goals, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Cultivate and sustain robust client relationships, serving as a reliable creative ally, and guaranteeing client satisfaction and retention.

  • Collaborate with clients to devise creative strategies and solutions that align with their business objectives and catalyze results.

  • Innovation and Creativity:

  • Contribute to the creative process from concept ideation to production, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and innovative work. Critique all major deliverables, ensuring they meet our standards. Participates and presents work alongside CDs in Executive Creative Leadership reviews of in-production work.

  • Drive innovation and creativity, setting new industry standards and ensuring that the company's work is smart, creative, and innovative.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality, impactful work, from campaigns to design to assets at scale to experiential work and more.

  • Ensures that the work is best-in-class and award-worthy.

  • Elevate Our Brand Presence and Perception:

  • Represent the company in public events, awards, and industry activities, maintaining a strong presence and reputation in the industry.

About You The essentials:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Design, Advertising, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years in the creative field and 3-5 years as a Creative Director, within the advertising and/or production industry on an international scale. A solid foundation in digital and campaign work is highly desired.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of creative work, including successful, award-winning campaigns, experiential or interactive design work.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire creative teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of brand, all things digital, and the latest creative and tech trends.
  • A strong desire to build and develop diverse teams and diverse perspectives, empowering the voices that are both close and abroad, while many of the teams work remotely.
  • Highly creative and imaginative with a strong visual and design aesthetic.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect creative ideas with business objectives.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Capability to lead fast-paced projects and drive complex opportunities to perfection, with an eye for both strategic and creative excellence.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Not a Must, But a Plus

  • Automotive and production experience is highly desired.
