Salary Range

$32.04 per hour (with wage increments to a max of $36.06per hour). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • B.Sc. in Physics from a recognized post-secondary educational institution;
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Good working knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
  • Good working knowledge of course content; operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and apparatus; modern techniques pertaining to the instruction of Physics courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with students, faculty, administrators, staff and the public.

Additional Information

  • This temporary part-time (minimum 6 hours per week) position to provide laboratory support for first year astronomy labs (ASTR 1105 – Introduction to Astronomy) is available starting September 2, 2025 and continuing until the end of the Fall semester.

  • Regular hours of work are between the hours of 4:00pm – 10:00pm. Labs will be scheduled on Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings and specific days will be assigned based on course scheduling requirements.

  • Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need. The position is located at the New Westminster campus.
