The Opportunity

Keyano College's Sport & Wellness Centre requires Game Day Official. This position requires someone who is able to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and has knowledge of the rules of play for Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball.

Note: this is not a remote work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The Game Day Official is responsible for the accurate and efficient management of the score table during athletic competitions, including basketball, soccer, and volleyball. This role ensures:

  • All game-related data is recorded correctly, and the score table operations run smoothly.
  • Set up and maintain the score table equipment before, during, and after events.
  • Operate the scoreboard, clock, and other necessary equipment accurately during games.
  • Record scores, fouls, timeouts, and other relevant game statistics as required.
  • Collaborate with referees, coaches, and event staff to ensure clear communication and smooth game flow.
  • Provide guidance to scorekeepers and other score table staff.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 education or GED.
  • Extremely familiarity with sport and official calls and sport facility rules of conduct.
  • Experience with score clocks and/or score sheets required.
  • Previous experience in Sports with preference given to Basketball, Volleyball, and Soccer.
  • Familiarity with Presto software is considered an asset.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to set up and tear down game day score table.
  • Ability to multi-task, to work independently or as a member of a team, and to communicate openly with fellow co-workers.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Candidates must be able to lift 50lbs weight.
  • Standard First aid- CPR-level C.
  • The position requires availability on weekends and evenings.
