Job Description
The College Student Success Innovation Centre (CSSIC) at Mohawk College, in partnership with the McMaster English Language Development (MELD) program at McMaster University, is seeking a Mohawk College student to join as a research assistant. The work will involve conducting language research on human participants at Mohawk College. Training will be provided at McMaster University, but data collection will occur at Mohawk College.
Job summary:
Provide support to research projects including the collection of data and basic data analysis. Work is performed under general direction and guidance.
Accountabilities:
- Work with the Research Coordinator and/or Principle Investigator to gather and compile data.
- Assist in the documentation of research protocols.
- Apply established research methodology to ensure all research material is handled in accordance with established protocols, policies and procedures.
- Record and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct literature searches to support research project.
- Seek guidance and direction from Research Staff or Manager.
Qualifications Education:
Candidates must be currently enrolled on a post-secondary program at Mohawk College.
Experience:
Prior experience in a research environment or related coursework.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed under close supervision.
