About the role
Foremost is looking for a self-motivated, outgoing individual to lead the Finance functions of our Calgary based business. As a key member of the Leadership Team this position will report to the VP Finance and work closely with the operations team in Calgary and all Department Managers within Foremost. The ideal candidate is someone who is high performing, analytical, driven by continuous improvement and innovation, and has experience leading through change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the compilation, analysis and review of financial information including IFRS consolidated financial statements
- Prepare for and coordinate annual external financials audits
- Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, sub-ledger, supporting schedules and monthly closing procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency of controls
- Document policies, procedures and provide recommendations for improvement
- Overseeing and reviewing A/R, A/P, and Administration
- Monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, conduct annual performance reviews
- Liaise with department managers on long-term business plans, control systems, financial performance
- Active member of the Leadership team
- Become a super user of Visibility ERP
- Lead finance related projects as required
Qualifications:
- Financial designation (CPA) is required
- 4+ years of experience in a Controller role, or equivalent
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related area
- Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Familiarity with manufacturing software and costing systems
