We are looking for an Calibration & Metrology Associate – This role involves ensuring that measuring instruments and equipment provide accurate and reliable readings according to established standards and regulations. The successful candidate will have a mechanical aptitude and knowledge and experience in calibration standards and different metrology methods.

What You Will Do

  • Calibration: Comparing measuring instruments against reference standards to identify and correct any deviations from accuracy.

  • Testing: Performing tests on instruments to verify their performance and ensure they meet specified requirements.

  • Adjustment: Making necessary adjustments to instruments to bring them within acceptable tolerances.

  • Certification: Providing documentation that certifies the accuracy and reliability of the instruments.

  • Maintenance: Performing preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure its continued accuracy and functionality.

  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with instruments that may be causing inaccurate readings.

  • Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of calibration procedures, test results, and any maintenance performed.

  • Following Procedures: Adhering to established procedures, including those outlined in quality systems like ISO-17025.

  • Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to metrology and calibration.

  • Technical Expertise: Providing technical advice and consultation to other technicians and clients on measurement-related matters.

  • Quality Control: Ensuring that products and processes meet specified quality standards through accurate measurements.

  • Compliance: Maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards related to measurement and calibration.

What We Need

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in calibration techniques, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze measurement data, identify errors, and develop solutions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to diagnose and resolve issues with measuring instruments.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in performing calibrations and recording results.
  • Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry standards, IOS 17025, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and regulations related to metrology and calibration.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to colleagues and clients.
  • Teamwork: Collaboration skills for working effectively with other members of the team.

This is an in-office position located in Barrie, Ontario.
