We’re looking for a Travel Consultant for our Marlin Travel Fredericton Branch who’s passionate about creating unforgettable experiences and delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in sales and customer service, is highly adaptable, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role calls for strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a calm, professional approach—especially during busy periods. In this in-office position, you’ll work closely with clients to plan personalized trips, manage bookings from start to finish, and make their travel dreams a reality.
Duties
- Assist clients with planning and booking travel arrangements including flights, vacation packages, cruises, hotels, and insurance
- Provide personalized travel recommendations based on client preferences, budget, and travel requirements
- Deliver exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and through email before, during, and after travel
- Stay up to date on travel promotions, destination requirements, and supplier offerings
- Accurately process bookings, payments, travel documents, and invoices
- Manage multiple inquiries and bookings simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Resolve travel issues or concerns in a timely, professional manner
- Maintain accurate and organized client records and documentation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient client experience
- Promote travel products and services to drive sales and repeat business
- Handle all client information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism, in accordance with privacy and data protection policies
- Attend training sessions as needed to stay current with booking systems, travel trends, and supplier updates
Requirements
- Proven experience in customer service, preferably within the hospitality or travel industry
- Strong sales skills with the ability to promote and close travel packages effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple bookings and client needs at once
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and comfortable using email, social media, and online booking tools
- Familiarity with booking software and online travel resources is an asset
- A genuine passion for travel and a desire to help others create memorable experiences
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate client needs
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism
