We’re hiring Casual Respiratory Therapists to join our team at Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, BC.

Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $37.89 - $47.31 / hour.

Detailed Overview

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy; assists with in-service education and provides input into program development.

Responsibilities

  1. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy such as assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support initiating/maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children and infants, providing airway management, patient evaluation, and daily care of patients as prescribed.
  2. Maintains documentation by ensuring reports, records and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
  3. Participates in the interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic/diagnostic strategies and program related issues.
  4. Monitors and performs required maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation and quality control of respiratory and related equipment: reports supply needs as required; maintains relevant logs/reports.
  5. Participates in quality improvement activities such as the development, implementation and evaluation of written procedures and standards, development of assessment forms and patient materials, and program descriptions as required.
  6. Participates in and provides various in-service education for staff and community as required.
  7. Participates in meetings and departmental committees and contributes to problem identification and resolution.
  8. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam. Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT). One year recent, related experience in an acute care setting. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C. Possession of and maintained Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
