As a Gas Plant Operator with us the minimum responsibilities are:
- Operate and control the biomethane plant to ensure safe and efficient performance.
- Perform daily operations including monitoring, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining systems, equipment, and buildings.
- Troubleshoot and restart equipment after unscheduled shutdowns or trips (mechanical, electrical, electronic, and plumbing).
- Collect, record, and analyze plant performance data.
- Conduct routine and non-routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Operate forklifts and man lifts as required.
- Inspect and examine machinery to detect potential failures and prevent unplanned downtime.
- Close work orders and document completed tasks using the plant’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Order necessary parts, supplies, and tools.
- Perform snow removal and deicing of the facility.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
What We Need From You
- A safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety issues.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility operation and maintenance.
- Strong aptitude in electrical or instrumentation systems is an asset.
- Experience with SCADA systems, blowers, thermal oxidizers, adsorption vessels, gas-fired engines, or gas compression equipment is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is an asset.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (approximately 1 week per month) and be within a 30-minute drive from the site during on-call periods.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts (initially bi-weekly day/evening shifts, transitioning to day shift only).
