The Opportunity

MUST have ESP scheduling and payroll experience
Must be able to handle multiple competing priorities
Experience with Geriatrics and Dementia is an asset
Many hours of repetitive motion tasks such as, but not limited to, keyboarding, mousing, typing, writing, answering telephone and walking greater than 100 yds
MUST have clear, fluent written and verbal English
MUST be able to remain composed during difficult or escalated conversations.

THIS IS NOT A UNIT CLERK POSITION
as per current AUPE Collective Agreement
all new external hires will start at Step 1 for pay until Letters of Portability are received.
Your duties may include tasks such as scheduling appointments and transportation, greeting families and visitors. Clerical duties such as answering telephones, typing, filing, photocopying and maintaining and ordering supplies, accounting/booking keeping duties. You will also be responsible for all scheduling duties such as ESP entry. In addition you may be required to porter residents within the facility and assist with feeding and lifting under direct supervision.
You must have Grade 12 supplemented with office administration courses and / or Clerk / Reception experience. Experience in continuing care is an asset, as well as demonstrated ability to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team. You must have previouscomputer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.

Requirements:
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
- A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.

Our Pastoral-Spiritual Care model incorporates Chaplains as Spiritual Care Facilitators and Providers. They invite members from the churches to become volunteers, and to be trained as Pastoral Care Visitors. As well, we formally train all staff in spirituality and spiritual care so that they can meet the needs of residents and clients when the Chaplain is not available.
Presently, we have over 3,900 employees and more than 2,300 volunteers who, in the spirit of compassion, serve approximately 6,000 clients.
