Status

Position Summary

To meet the ongoing needs of our growing Division, we are recruiting temporary Administrative Assistants to participate in a paid Administrative Assistant Training Program designed to prepare experienced and highly trained individuals for the role of Administrative Assistant in our Division schools.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • providing a lead role in the coordination of office administrative functions

  • implementing and maintaining administrative and clerical systems and procedures

  • maintaining the student information system including processing student records and student enrolment

  • providing reception, clerical and administrative support services

  • preparing, editing and formatting correspondence, documents, reports and publications

  • maintaining and uploading information to various websites and EPSB programs

  • coordinating student transportation and processing monthly bus fees

  • maintaining financial processes and assisting with budget planning

  • assisting with the coordination of school related events

Education/Qualifications

  • completion of a two-year post-secondary training program

  • a minimum of two years of administrative experience

  • knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite

  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • superb customer service, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

Rate of Pay

$21.64 - $23.35 per hour

About What We Have to Offer

About the Training Program:

Commencing August 12, 2025, the Administrative Assistant Training Program will include classroom learning, as well as a hands-on practicum experience under the guidance of a highly skilled, school based administrative assistant. Through coaching and mentoring, participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of the position, Division policies and procedures, Division software programs and school office procedures.

Nature of Work

Following successful completion of the training program, participants will be eligible to accept temporary assignments through Supply Services.

Supply Services offers:

  • hourly, on-call work – up to 7 hours per day (Monday – Friday)

  • long term part-time and full-time

  • eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions

  • a comprehensive benefits package for staff who receive long term assignments beyond 25 days in duration or gain permanent employment
