Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer in Training (EIT) - Project Manager to join a dynamic Engineering team at our Victoria office. This role offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to embark on a fulfilling career path with ample room for growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site investigations, construction reviews and inspections
  • Data management
  • Writing and editing formal reports, letters, and memos in MS Suite
  • Providing oversight and leadership to technicians, technologists, and other EITs, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Company's engineering staff and management group, as well as clients and contractors. Regular travel throughout Vancouver Island should be expected.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Enrollment or eligibility to enroll with EGBC as an Engineer-In-Training or a Professional Engineer
  • A Degree in geological or civil engineering
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license and a personal vehicle
  • A solid understanding of soil mechanics and soil classification
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and materials testing
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
