Warehouse Receiver (Days 9:00am - 5:00pm)

Primary Responsibilities The primary responsibility for the Receiver is to receive merchandise and materials from outside vendors. Other responsibilities include the handling, unpacking or uncrating merchandise or materials for routing to, or storage in, the proper department and for documenting damaged goods and/or shortages/overages. Essential Functions
- Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food)
- Keep records of incoming goods, check bills of lading or purchase orders on incoming shipments. Sign for and verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders, make appropriate adjustments, if necessary (i.e., over/short, damaged product, change in size), and notify department manager of discrepancies.
- Check product for quality, freshness, damage, proper size, expiration code date or "sell by" dates.
- Unload trucks and break down pallets that do not immediately fit in allotted reserve storage spots.
- Select orders for special store orders (i.e., add-ons), and stock product as needed.
- Pull product returned from stores off trailers and stage for check-in process.
- Spot check/scan the UPC (inner/outer) verification according to AS400.
- Spot check the Nutrition to ensure it is bilingual.
- Documenting the freight temperature to ensure the integrity of the inbound shipment. Shippments may be located in our ambient, cool or frozen envionments.
- Inspect the cleanliness of the trailer for any infestation.
- Correctly inspect and maintain power equipment.
- Other duties and special projects as requested.
- Must maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
- Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
- High School Diploma required, and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics environment.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and fluent in English.
- Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., Raymond Reach forklift, power jacks).
- Proficiency in MS Office required. Computer skills (SAP experience) preferred.
- The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb, and is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. We do have an inhouse freezer onsite.
- Excellent customer service-oriented attitude with ability to get along with diverse personalities and communicate effectively with customers and all levels of Tree of Life associates. Must be tactful, mature, and flexible with good reasoning abilities and sound judgement.
- High energy level with the ability to establish creditability and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
