About the role
Our client, an established Government employer in Alberta is seeking a Sr Business Analyst to join the team on a contract basis.
This role will be key in multiple implementation projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with enterprise applications and fast-paced environments.
This is a 1 year contract to start; expected to extend long term. Remote with some travel to Edmonton. We have placed multiple people with this organisation and know the hiring teams well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on change initiatives, ensuring successful adoption and implementation.
- Develop and execute change management plans, including communication strategies, training programs, and support structures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and address resistance to change.
- Analyze current business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement optimized processes that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process changes, making adjustments as necessary.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate workshops to gather requirements, brainstorm solutions, and validate process improvements.
- Engage stakeholders from various departments to ensure comprehensive understanding and buy-in.
- Document workshop outcomes and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion.
- Gather and analyze data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses to support project proposals.
- Create detailed business requirements documents, process maps, and workflow diagrams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, with a focus on change management and process improvement.
- Proven experience in facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Change Management (CCMP, Prosci) is a plus.
