Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Lower Mainland & Fraser Valley (Travel Between Locations)

Do you like working with your hands, fixing things, and staying on the move? We’re looking for someone just like you.

Kirmac Collision & Autoglass is a locally owned auto body repair company with 18 locations across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. We've been helping people get back on the road for over 50 years — and we take pride in keeping our shops clean, safe, and running smoothly.

We’re looking for a skilled, reliable person to handle general repairs and maintenance across all our locations. You’ll be our go-to person when something needs fixing — whether it’s a leaky pipe, a flickering light, or a dirty spray booth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Travel between Kirmac shops to handle repairs and maintenance.
  • Fix small problems like:
  • Changing lights or fixing electrical outlets
  • Patching drywall or painting walls
  • Unclogging drains or fixing small plumbing issues
  • Repairing doors, locks, and other basic building parts
  • Keep spray booths clean and working properly — changing filters, cleaning ducts, and doing regular upkeep.
  • Pressure wash building exteriors, signs, and parking lots.
  • Make sure each location is clean, safe, and in good shape.
  • Keep track of your work in our maintenance system.
  • Handle emergency repairs when needed.
  • Work with outside contractors for bigger jobs.
  • Help set up new store locations when we open them.
  • Suggest ways we can improve or fix up our buildings.
  • Take on other projects as needed.

What You’ll Need

  • At least 3 years of experience doing hands-on building or shop maintenance.
  • Comfortable doing a bit of everything — electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, etc.
  • Able to work on your own and manage your time well.
  • A valid BC driver’s license (you’ll be driving between locations).
  • Forklift or scissor lift experience is a bonus.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and do physical work like bending, lifting, climbing ladders.
  • Good communication and a team attitude.

What We Offer

  • $38–$41 per hour, depending on your experience
  • Company vehicle and gas allowance during work hours
  • Extended health, dental, and vision coverage
  • RRSP program to help you save for the future
  • Paid time off for vacation and personal days
  • Flexible work hours
  • Training and support to grow your skills
  • Discounts, social events, and a team that cares about the community

About Kirmac Collision & Autoglass

Motor Vehicle Manufacturing
51-200

Kirmac was founded in 1973 by Ian McIntosh. He always had the propensity to embrace new technology and pioneer new collision repair techniques. While working at a major truck manufacturing facility in Burnaby, Ian realized that a repair shop’s operations should flow as efficiently as the assembly line environment he was working in. At the time, collision repair shops were dingy, disorganized and only produced “good enough” quality to vehicle owners.

Two years later, Ian opened a 10,000 square foot shop in Coquitlam, BC, initially repairing large trucks. Kirmac purchased the largest spray booth in Western Canada and implemented an assembly line mentality to repairing trucks. Soon after, Kirmac switched from trucks to cars and the rest is history! Kirmac began repairing vehicles with the goal of turning the unfortunate experience of a vehicle collision into a positive, lasting impression.

Kirmac opened the second location in North Burnaby, BC in 1988. In the early 1990s the company grew significantly, opening in Richmond, Langley, Surrey, New Westminster, Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Walnut Grove, and Burnaby Metrotown. Kirmac now operates 17 locations in BC’s Lower Mainland. In 2000, Kirmac expanded into Washington State and grew to 12 locations over 15 years before selling the US operations to Texas-based Service King Collision Repair Centers in November 2014.

Kirmac has been able to grow throughout the decades by utilizing computerization, implementing disciplined systems and processes, purchasing the latest equipment and hiring the type of employees who fit our company values.
