Your Opportunity:
The South Health Campus (SHC) Women’s Cardiac Health Clinic (WCHC) Provincial (Prov) Central Access Triage (CAT) is recruiting a permanent full-time Clerk IV. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics & Clinics. The Clerk IV will assist in completion of clerical tasks associated with the 4 specialty Clinics which include WCHC Microvascular Disease, WCHC Arrythmia, WCHC Cardiac Obstetrics & WCHC Cardiac Prevention. The Clerk IV is an integral member of the team, working within a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and clear, effective communication, in stressful situations. A commitment to respectful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team is essential to ensure high standards of patient- and family-centered care. This role requires keen attention to detail, organizational abilities, & exceptional time management. The candidate must be highly adaptable, capable of multitasking & able to manage frequent interruptions while maintaining productivity. Familiarity with diverse clinic workflows, independent problem solving, & critical thinking are vital. A comprehensive understanding of patient and family centered care is required, and an understanding of the unique health needs of women.

Additional Required Qualifications:
The Admin Support - Clerk IV will be tasked with the following: Working with the Physician leads, Nurse Practitioner and/or Registered Nurses to assist in triaging referrals & coordinating patient care & appointments. Managing workques in Connect Care (CC). Booking patient appointments & using templates within CC. Assisting with the coordination of physician schedules. Management & processing of patient referrals in accordance with Path to Care guidelines. Faxing documentation as required. Liaising with referring sites regarding patient bookings & the entire multidisciplinary team. Completing & sending referrals for various diagnostic tests. Sending & receiving departmental mail. Being adaptable to changing workflows & clinic demands. Grade 12 graduate or equivalent. Medical Terminology Course. Current ambulatory Booking Clerk experience with a minimum of 3 years. Current Cardiac booking experience, minimum of 1 year. Experience working within a CAT. Experience in building a Clinic with the Connect Care team and updating the ARD. Must be able to work at a computer station for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Proficiency with the following IT systems: Connect Care and Netcare. Word. Excel. Outlook. Internet Explorer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with database management, completion of Medical Office Assistant course. Proficiency with the following IT systems: Connect Care, APPROACH, Netcare, Right Fax, MUSE, Xcellera, Impax, Alberta Referral Directory.
