Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and operating a variety of production machines, including CNC lathes, and possess a solid understanding of blueprints, tooling, and machining processes. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for machine setup, programming, measurement calibration, and ensuring parts meet required specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate production machines, including CNC lathes, using correct tools, offsets, and materials.
  • Program CNC lathes and calculate machine feeds, speeds, and angles for accurate machining.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches to produce parts to specification.
  • Measure and calibrate tools and instruments; perform tool-proving operations as required.
  • Ensure fixtures are properly fastened and shop aids meet quality standards.
  • Monitor gauges, machine operations, and schedule to ensure timely workflow and part movement.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow established work processes and safety protocols.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12).
  • Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in machining or a related field.
  • Formal machinist training or apprenticeship is an asset.
  • Proficient in trigonometric calculations and feed/speed computation.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
