The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, Provincial Protective Services Branch in Buffalo Narrows is looking to hire a Customer Service Representative who is a motivated and well-organized individual to provide customer service, clerical/administrative support, and financial processing services in a dynamic and fast-paced workplace.
As the Customer Service Representative, you will provide a range of administrative support for the office. This includes responding to a variety of telephone and in-person inquiries, providing information and assistance to clients concerning ministry programs, Acts, regulations, policies and procedures, as well as issuing receipts, permits, and licenses for ministry programs in forestry, fisheries, wildlife, environmental protection, sustainable lands and map sales. You will receive, label and/or examine wildlife specimens (injured and/or dead wildlife) for the purpose of research, aging, or issuing permits. You will be responsible for processing accounts payable/revenue and purchasing documents. You will also assist with basic budget processing, analysis and forecasting.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of office management practices and procedures; accounting/financial principles and procedures; as well as word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications. You will have strong communication and exceptional customer service skills in order to provide assistance and advice to internal and external clients on ministry processes and policies. You will have the ability to calmly and courteously acknowledge the concerns of clients who may be hostile, angry, confused, or frustrated.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the completion of an Office Administration certificate combined with several years of office administration experience.
