About The Role Securities Financing Technology solves some of the most interesting and complex challenges in the financial industry to help our global business and its customers succeed. You will join our Canada’s Margin & Risk pod within Securities Financing Technology. We are a software engineering team utilizing best in class technologies such as Java, Scala and React.

Collecting, storing, analysing and distributing data across multiple systems with varied requirements creates many interesting challenges and gives plenty opportunities for improvements and innovation. You will work closely with an in-house built margin/risk monitoring platform servicing Risk Managers globally. Our vision is to create an industry-leading proprietary system to support the current and future business demands.

We are a global team with staff in London, Guangzhou and Toronto.

As our Full Stack Engineer, you will:

• Handle all phases of development (requirements gathering/analysis through to implementation), establishing solid relationships and trust built on proven delivery.
• Involved in production support (via a rota) and be proactively engaged in improvements on automation.

What Your Day will Look Like

• Participate in daily stand up and discuss progress of your learnings and deliveries
• Work closely with Risk Managers to enhance the margin and risk platforms
• Handle Production issues and identify root cause/fix
• Reduce tech debt and vulnerabilities across applications
• Engage in open, inclusive, and diverse global team discussions to push technological innovation

Requirements You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

• Solid experience with Java (version 17 or higher)
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience developing microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Framework
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, including memory management, CPU utilization, and streaming data processing
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, etc.)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Proficient in using version control systems, Git bash, Github and Stash
• Understanding of security best practices for API and microservices development
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Skills preferred, but not mandatory:

• GCP Cloud knowledge
• Margin or Risk domain knowledge
• Exposure to React or other Front-End technologies
