About the role

As an Intermediate Procurement Specialist you will be accountable for full lifecycle procurement activities for a portfolio of medium-to-high complexity procurement packages for the River Class Destroyer Program, including systems, equipment and material.

The Procurement Specialist will perform research and analysis to underpin the development of comprehensive sourcing strategies; engage stakeholders to ensure progress and schedule adherence, perform supplier engagement activities for assigned portfolio; executing pre-qualification activities to on-boarding suppliers; develop and execute RFI/RFP, coordinate supplier negotiation, prepare contracts and briefing papers coordinating procurement activities, manage commercial activities (purchase orders invoicing) and post-award contract activities review of deliverables, supplier performance and relationship management.

  • Perform requisite research and analysis to develop an optimal sourcing strategy across the assigned portfolio;

  • Execute stakeholder management activities to ensure accurate, timely, and clear advice is provided to the business to support progress and schedule adherence;

  • Perform full life cycle supplier management activities including all pre-qualification, supplier engagement, supplier negotiations, supplier performance management ensuring on time material delivery and IMS schedule adherence;

  • Develop and implement Requests for Information and request for proposal, managing these sourcing events to meet cost management and scheduling expectations;

  • Perform full suite contract management activities for assigned portfolio including contract preparation, executive briefings, participate and/or lead negotiations, and post award contract administration;

  • Fulfill purchase order management requirements including invoice review/attestation in order to ensure first time match invoice management.

  • Post secondary education in a relevant discipline preferred;

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain, procurement activities

  • Preferred experience in Shipbuilding, Aerospace/Defense, Heavy Manufacturing, Construction industry;
